Birds

Spalding Associates have extensive experience of bird survey work throughout Britain. We have employed generic and single species survey techniques in informing development proposals and habitat management, as well as species monitoring on SPAs and nature reserves.

We have extensive experience in a variety of habitats, which has included the mapping of flightpaths to inform windfarm proposals in upland areas, study of feeding behaviour on tidal mudflats to inform riverside development proposals, Common Birds Census surveys of woodland, as well as assessments of bird populations across a range of brownfield sites.

We have worked on protected species, including Barn Owls, Honey Buzzards, Red Kites, Peregrines, Merlins and Dotterel.
